Alfred G. Kyle is a Partner in the Dallas office of Reed Smith LLP, with a practice focused on real estate, commercial lending and complex finance transactions, handling billions of dollars in loan transactions across the United States. He brings more than two decades of experience representing financial institutions, including national, regional and local banks, life insurance companies and capital markets lenders, as well as non-traditional lenders, real estate developers and investors.
His work centers on real estate and commercial lending matters, including first-lien, subordinate and mezzanine lending, intercreditor agreements, preferred equity investments, workouts, foreclosures, receiverships, assumptions and consents. He regularly advises clients on transactions involving sophisticated capital structures and evolving market conditions, providing practical guidance across both transactional and distressed scenarios.
In addition to his client practice, Al directs the U.S. Real Estate Practice Group associate training program at Reed Smith LLP. In this role, he contributes to professional development, knowledge sharing and broader initiatives designed to strengthen the firm’s real estate platform and internal collaboration.
Al is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law Center and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University.

- Represented the agent for a group of lenders in connection with the closing and syndication of credit facilities in the amount of $116,000,000.00 for the acquisition and renovation of a large senior housing facility in New York City.
- Represented the agent for a group of lenders in connection with the closing and syndication of credit facilities in the amount of $120,000,000.00 for the acquisition of five assisted living facilities in Philadelphia.
- Represented the agent for a group of lenders in connection with the closing and syndication of a $75,000,000.00 credit facility to provide financing for the recapitalization of a nine property, 431 unit assisted living and memory care portfolio with four properties located in Illinois, four properties located in Iowa, and one property located in Michigan.
- Represented the agent for a group of lenders in connection with the closing and syndication of a $58,000,000.00 loan to finance the construction of a 430-unit apartment community known as Jefferson East Village located in Dallas, Texas.
- Represented the lender in connection with the making of a $43,800,000.00 loan to finance the construction of a 336,087 square foot, 360-unit apartment project located at the intersection of Cotton Gin Road and Library Street in Frisco, Texas.
- Represented the lender in connection with the closing of a $50,000,000.00 revolving line of credit for working capital and a $50,000,000.00 term loan to refinance existing debt for an insurance holding company and its various subsidiaries.
- Represented international energy company in connection with three separate joint ventures for the development of solar power projects in Texas.
