April is a Partner and Chair of Real Estate Services at Jones Pyatt Law, LLC. She is an experienced, business-minded attorney who partners with clients to advance their commercial real estate and business goals.

For more than two decades, April has provided legal counsel to clients in commercial real estate matters in Indiana and throughout the United States. April represents clients in the retail, industrial, office, mixed-use and multi-family sectors, through all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, leasing, financing and workouts, joint venture, and equity structuring. April advises national, regional, and local developers, and other real estate focused investors and businesses in their acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing and development transactions across the United States.

April has significant experience in representing borrowers in real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, securitized financings, loan acquisitions and loan workouts. She also serves as counsel on real estate tax and incentive transactions (including HOME, AHP, LIHTC, NMTC, multifamily bonds, and Opportunity Zones).

April also represents both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of master leases, ground leases, and leases for office parks, industrial centers, retail centers, anchor locations, and distribution and warehouse space.

Additionally, April has provided counsel to clients with unique needs, including military base re-use authorities, nonprofit corporations, government entities, real estate investment trusts, institutions of higher education, and public companies.

A graduate of Ball State University (1994) and Ohio Northern University (summa cum laude 1998), April was a partner at Ice Miller LLP until January 2021. April is a member and former Chair of the Real Estate and Land Use Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
